Under Belly and Neck Clip (Bib) – £30

The under belly and neck clip, sometimes referred to as a “bib”, is a good clip suitable for horses that are used for light work,  that live out during the winter months. For winter protection, the head, topside of the neck, body and legs are left on, so you will still be able to turn your horse out.

Low Trace Clip  – £30 (Add £5 extra for full head)

The low trace is a good clip recommended for horses in light work. It will ensure that the horse does not get too hot and sweaty when in exercise, but does also mean that you can still turn your horse out during the winter, however, more rugs are needed. As with the under belly clip, the legs are also left on with a trace clip for warmth and extra protection during the winter months.

Full Neck and Belly Clip  – £35 ( Add £5 extra for full head)

The high trace clip is suitable for horses in light to medium work. The style of the clip is very similar to the low trace, just receding further up the horse to remove more of the coat. Often we do the high trace with half the head clipped, but if your horse does not like his head being clipped, you can do the high trace but run it up the neck and under the head, as with the low trace. Please do remember, the more hair you take off your horse, the more rugs and or blankets you will have to use. As with the under belly clip and the low trace clip, the legs are left on with for warmth and extra protection during the winter months.

Blanket Clip – £40 ( Add £5 extra for full head)

The blanket clip is ideal for horses in regular work as you can exercise thoroughly, without losing condition through sweating. The coat is removed completely from the head, neck and flanks, leaving only the legs and an area over the back that looks like a small rug. As with the under belly and trace clips, the legs are also left on for warmth and extra protection to your horse during the winter months.

Hunter Clip – £ 40 ( Add £5 extra for full head)

The hunter clip is best suited for horses in hard, regular exercise such as hunting. It is a very smart clip that involves taking off all the coat, except for the legs, the saddle patch and an inverted V above the tail, I use a half pad shape instead of the traditional full saddle which is for ease of maintenance, please ask for full saddle if this is required particularly if you primarily use a numnah or nothing under your saddle. Care must be taken when doing the saddle patch and you should outline your saddle, not the numnah, as this will look better when your horse is under saddle. As with the under belly, trace and blanket clips, the legs are also left on for warmth and extra protection for your horse during the winter months. When exercising outside, it is advisable that you use an exercise rug to ensure that your horse does not get cold.

Full Clip – £50( Add £5 extra for full head)

The full clip is usually only given to high level competition horses, that work very hard. The whole coat is taken off apart from the inverted V above the tail. This is a very smart clip that requires careful stable management. The horse should be rugged up at all times and when very cold, bandages may even be required to maintain your horse’s warmth.

Full Competition ‘Winter Spruce Up’  – £55

Includes – Hunter Clip, Mane Pulled, Bridle Area Trimmed, Tail Pulled/ Trimmed, Deep Clean Wash, Hoof Scrub and Oil
